What do the Marvel Universe heroes teach us about servant leadership?

As we begin the Fall, we will be entering into convesration about leadership, leadership development and healing the leadership vacuum that we are currently experiencing.

Our worship series will dive into the leadership styles found in the Bible, culminating in Jesus as servant leader.

This blog will explore servant leadership through an exploration of the Marvel Universe.

The UCC has a saying, "God is still speaking."  It means that God did not stop speaking after the Bible was written.  It means that everything from the natural world to movies, books, and poems can be used by the Sacred to teach us.  When we enter into theological reflection upon pop-culture we can have wonderfully fun and deep conversations about ethics, values, spirituality, God's presence and more.

This Fall, I will be doing that by using the Marvel Universe.  I love the Marvel movies from Captain American: The First Avenger through End Game.  There is so much good stuff to reflect upon theologically!  So I have, through the space of a blog.  I will share these with you.

Although I do not mention specifically leadership in all the blogs, they pertain to leadership.  Each blog does speak at some level about the qualities we need as leaders.  Each blog asks for us to reflect upon some aspect of our life, our spiritual lives, our relationships; asking us to go deeper.

I invite you to journey with me.  What will Captain America, Thor and Spiderman have to teach us about leadership?

Look forward to a new theological reflection upon leadership and the Marvel Universe mid-week each week.
