Children & Youth @ UCCEG

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’  -  Matthew 19:14

Children and Youth are a Blessing!

At UCCEG we believe that children and youth are a blessing and a vital part of the life and ministry of the church.
Below are some of the ways we include them and the special programing we have to meet their needs.

Nursery Care

We have a room specially equipped for our littlest members who may not enjoy sitting in worship the entire time. Feel free to take your child to the nursery anytime and make yourself at home with the toys and books. Breastfeeding mothers are welcome to feed in the sanctuary but if you desire more privacy - the nursery is a great option.

Activity Bags

You can find activity bags and books in the lobby to help keep your little one entertained during the worship service.

Conversation for All Ages

During the worship service, there is a designated time for children to come to the front of the sancturary (if they are able and willing) to have a special chat regarding the Scripture and theme of the day.

Acolytes

Youth in middle school and high school are encouraged to volunteer to acolyte during worship. Please contact the Pastor for details.

Baptism

Baptism is offered at any age, but is often done with babies. If you desire your child to be baptised, please contact the Pastor to discuss the details.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a year-long commitment where students (usually 7th-9th graders) work with the pastor and a church sponsor to grow deeper in their faith as they re-commit to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Activities include community outreach, visiting other places of worship and participating more fully in the local denomination and associations. Students dive into the study of the Bible and their prayer life, and participate in worship services and the church committees. By their affirmation of baptism youth are received by the congregation, as voting members of the church. To learn more, please contact the Pastor.
